I dont see any that I like....Most candles too long, some are at resistance....Think I will pass....Its a shame, cause there are a lot to choose from... I will stay out for now...Looks like too much indecision for my taste

Just had a look at the pairs and decided to leave tonight.

I now look for reasons NOT to trade, unlike before when i looked for reasons to trade. ha ha.

I do have a demo trade taken with steves robot on usdcad, that I may have taken live. Be interested in what the boss comes up with

Hi Guys,

lot of volatility this week with interest rate decisions and been hard to find good set ups so i am taking a pass tonight what with the FOMC int rate decision and then if you take a trade you are then very close to NFP on Friday so i will stay out this week and then look forward to next week

Resistance appears around 1.0580.. only 45 pips from now....S/L Would be around 250 pips.....not a good return for me.

Default USD/CAD

USD/CAD's on the second dot on my system, so it's invalid.

Default AshFX V2 Daily Setups : 04 Nov 09

So today we have quite a few setups:

- Long EUR/USD
- Long GBP/USD
- Short USD/CHF
- Long GBP/JPY
- Long CAD/JPY
- Short USD/CAD

Lets take a look at each one in turn. I advise all new traders to try to understand what I'm getting at here...

1. Long EUR/USD. Put simply, the previous few days candles are too choppy. Up, down, up, down. When I see this, I stay out.

2. Long GBP/USD. Look at how much resistance we have when we zoom out. You'll see I have circled the resistance points in blue. Risky setup with so much resistance so close. Stochastics aren't exactly smooth either. Also, please see: http://forexmoments.com/forums/forex....html#post5918

3. Short USD/CHF. Similar to EUR/USD, price action way too choppy. Plus the signal candle is too long.

4. Long GBP/JPY. Stochastics are too choppy and signal candle is too long.

5. Long CAD/JPY. Very strong resistance!

6. Short USD/CAD. The only one worth considering. Having said that, I see some support as you can see on the screenshot, so I'm not comfortable taking this.

Smile Considered approach

Many thanks for the insights into each of today's setups Ash.
Can now see there are several points to consider for a signal to be "good enough" - this is what experience will bring eventually I hope. I can see what Steve says about his robot never being able to emmulate a good human trader.
Love the learning - thanks again Ash
