Swing trading requires discipline. When you enter a trade, set your stop loss and take profit levels. These aren't up to any modification due to hunches unless the market data changes sufficiently to justify it. You need to work with your initial settings to avoid turning this into a job.

Forex swing trading is designed to capture the reactions of a higher trend (either up or rough) and tries to use its stores may take a few days of the week in a row. In this context, it is a form of short term trading, and is the only method works for short-term forex trading.

The forex market is the largest financial market in the world, trading around $1.5 trillion each day. Trading in the forex is not done at one central location but is conducted between participants through electronic communication networks (ECNs) and phone networks in various markets around the world.

The market is open 24 hours a day from 5pm EST on Sunday until 4pm EST Friday. The reason that the markets are open 24 hours a day is that currencies are in high demand. The international scope of currency trading means that there are always traders somewhere who are making and meeting demands for a particular currency.

Currency is also needed around the world for international trade, as well as by central banks and global businesses. Central banks have relied on foreign-exchange markets since 1971 - when fixed-currency markets ceased to exist because the gold standard was dropped. Since that time, most international currencies have been "floated", rather than pegged to the value of gold.

Swing trading merges the better of two worlds - the slower speed of investing and the increased potential growth of intra day trading.

Generally all swing traders hold positions on stocks for some days or some weeks trading the general up or down trends.

Elliott concluded that the market's movement was a direct result of the mass psychology of the time and that the stock market is a fractal. A fractal is an object that is similar in shape, but at different scales. A great example of a fractal in nature is a stalk of broccoli. The stalk and the individual branches look exactly the same; just the branches are smaller in scale.

Swing trading can be highly effective in forex markets enabling you to trade with low risk and high rewards. Swing trades normally last for a few days and are a reaction within the major trend.

The rules i follow are:

If resistance holds and momentum falls i would look to go short. So were bullish and bearish, depending on what the price action tells me.

I think a swing to the downside may come before the breakout to the upside.

For swing trading, you want to find a price that develops momentum, and is likely to continue strongly in the same direction. This requires you to look at a much shorter time span, and consider the message being given to you by technical indicators to see if the price is moving in the direction that you would expect.
