Default What is the direction for USD?

Hi all,

Since the major currency is EUR/USD, USD/JPY, USD/CHF & GBP/USD. USD most of the time has the highest influence when market move.

This thread will serve as the purpose of people view. By monthly basis, please update and explain:-

1) which direction do you think the USD will go? up or down?
2) Why? any news to support your claim? technical analysis? and/or insight about US market?

I shall be the first to give my view on this. For this month of Dec, my view is USD will go up because more people might be selling off their stock and buying greenback as it is the safe haven.

Please share your view.

The USD usually have a negative correlation with the US stock markets, which means that it goes up when the stocks slide, and the opposite. However, the weakness of the Euro leaves no alternative for those who looking for investment in a major-traded currency, and therefore we see the USD rise in spite the positive opening in Wall Street. I believe that as long as the stock rise, the EUR continue strengthening against the USD but not against other strong currencies such as JPY or AUD. However, any correction in the stock market will support the USD against all the other currencies.

I am observing USD/EUR since last some weeks and there is no positive sign due to negative impact of economy. Even in Asian market USD is strong respective to other asian currencies.
