Dear All,

To start off, i will write some background info about GMI.

What is GMI?
GMI stands for Global Markets Investing.

Who is behind GMI's Trend EA?
GMI - Trend EA is a joint effort of 2 x-bank traders, myself and my partner.

What does GMI's Trend EA trade?
GMI's Trend EA trades only the EUR/USD pair.

What is your experience in the FX market?
We have been trading the markets for almost 8 years. We met in a Treasury Banking course, 8 years back and have been together since. We tried and tested many FX trading strategies but never succeeded, mainly because we didn't have risk management, couldn't continue to be disciplined, couldn't handle the stress of trading and couldn't trade without greed.

So we decided to build an EA which will handle the 'risk', 'greed', 'emotion', and 'stress'. And lastly the EA should follow our Entry and Exit rules, based on Stop Loss, Take Profit and Trailing Stop.

We have been testing the EA for quite some time, around 3 months.

So the longest history we have for the EA is 3 months on Alpari UK.

After seeing the potential of the EA, we have decided to test it on other broker plaforms such as :

1) IBFX
2) FXDD
3) FXCM
4) FX Pro
5) FX Open
6) FX Primus
7) GFT Forex
8) Go Markets
9) Tadawul FX
10) Trading Point

So far the best results are with :

1) IBFX
2) FX Primus
3) Alpari UK

The rest of the brokers are profitable, but their equity curve is not as smooth as the above 3. So we are trying to tweak the EA's settings to get the best results.

The EA produced around 100 pips in this weeks testing.

c) GFT Forex
d) Go Markets

The EA is not performing so well on the rest of the brokers, but we are trying different settings to achieve better results.

This is a weekly update on our testing of GMI - Trend EA.

We managed to get better results this week after tweaking the settings.

The best results for this week are with -

1) Alpari UK
2) FX Pro
3) GFT Forex
4) FXDD
5) FXCM
6) Trading Point

The rest of the brokers results were not so good, due to slippage and connection problems.

We will keep the same settings for this week and see how they perform.

Dear Traders,

This is a weekly update on our testing of GMI - Trend EA.

As mentioned last week, we kept the same settings for the week to see how they perform.

Our findings suggest that 'Tuesday' is the worst trading day of the week for our EA.

Some Tuesdays the EA will perform well, and others it will not. Our research work going forward

is to find a way to be profitable on 'Tuesday'.

As for the remaining days of the week, the EA performs profitably, especially on 'Friday'

2) FX Pro
3) FXDD

The rest of the brokers results were effected largely from the bad trading result on 'Tuesday'

We will try different settings for 'Tuesday' this week and see what happens.

Commodities should rise today, as Fed. Chairman Ben Bernanke suggested last night that the Fed does not expect to change its interest rate until 2013. Gold should resume its rise after American investors search for a safe haven to put their money in, as European investors did in overnight trading. Gold rose $30 after Bernanke's speach. Althogh it lost most of that gain since, I believe it will resume its rise as global investors search for safety in the coming years. Also the end of October is the start of the wedding season in India, where demand is seasonally high for the metal.

The Bank of England started repurchasing assets from English banks a few weeks back and is purchasing about $150 Million in assets from them. Undoubtly, the continuation of asset purchase will inflate the price of Gold in the near term as English banks look for places to invest.

We mentioned last week that we would try different settings for 'Tuesday' in an attempt to be profitable on this day. The EA performed quite well this week.

The best results for this week are with -

1) Alpari UK
2) FXDD
3) FX Primus
4) Go Markets
5) IBFX
6) Trading Point

The rest of the brokers results were not so good, as we witnessed a lot of problems with slippage.

Scalper EA's will not perform well when there is a lot of slippage on some broker platforms.

We will try different settings this week on the broker platforms which we found in our testing to have a lot of slippage.
