I have used GFTs DealBook for the last couple of years... for their charting only. I removed all but $1K and use it to essentially test out new trading idea so at least a little money is on the table to keep me honest.
The Good:
- Charting: charts can be removed and placed on different monitors. This is helpful when looking at different TFs all at once.
- Indicators: whatever, they are ok but I'm a naked trader for the most part.
- Money Transfers: never had a problem in either direction. Always prompt and correct... and that's most important.
The Bad:
- Dealing Desk: not a fan of it being a scalper
- Execution Time: when they see consistent scalping they tend to lag order fills. Not an impressive habit.
- Customer Service: honestly, thier tech dept. is ok and detailed in trying to help you out when issues exist... but very average in my opinion.
All in all, if you are a looking for an appealing charting package they are it... if you can deal with not having all of the snazzy indicators that MT4 offers... GFT is OK, but if you are a short-term trader (scalper) you might be served going with an ECN.
